Polished concrete is susceptible to several types of damage, including chipping, cracking, warping, spalling and shrinkage. Some of these issues are caused by environmental factors, others by shoddy craft. The beauty of polished concrete lies in its seamless, glassy surface, and the slightest defect not only ruins the effect, but could also be a symptom of more insidious damage beneath the surface.
Whatever the case, unstable and old concrete floors are a serious health and safety risk. Trust Policrete to deliver the perfect solution.

The price for repairing your polished concrete floors will depend on the nature of the damage. It isn’t necessarily true that minor damage will incur a smaller fee. Easily dismissable flaws like small bubbles, flakes or loose debris might actually be signs of concrete spalling beneath the surrounding concrete surface.
What we can promise you is a transparent and reasonable repair quote. The first thing we’ll do is conduct a thorough assessment of your floors to determine the nature of the damage and to decide what polished concrete repair products are most appropriate. Then, you’ll know exactly what we need to do, why, and how much it’ll cost.
The timeframe for repairs depends on how damaged the floors are and which solution we decide to use. After our initial consultation, we’ll develop a project timeframe for you that’ll cover the preparation, repair process and any additional concrete polishing we need to conduct to get your floors back to pristine condition.
As a general rule, you should contact a concrete specialist if you see any type of damage at all, no matter how minor. Once we’ve checked it out, you’ll know if it’s actually nothing to worry about or a sign of something worse.
Here’s a list of things you should look out for:
If you notice any signs of damage, contact Policrete for a diagnosis immediately.
Yes. We often repair minor cracks in polished concrete using polymer mixtures. While still in their liquid state, we can mix in pigments to match the surrounding concrete. If your concrete is textured or flaked, we can even add similarly coloured and sized flakes to get a near-perfect finish.
That depends on the solution we select. If we have poured a new concrete slab, you must wait at least 48 hours to walk on it. Without enough time to cure, the wet concrete will settle unevenly, putting it at risk of further cracking.
If we repair minor cracks with a polymer solution, you may only have to wait a matter of hours before it is safe to walk on.
Policrete operates across Melbourne, including the metro area and outer suburbs, Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula.
